Aromatic and Medicinal Plants (AMP) are plants that exhibit special properties regarding aroma and therapeutic abilities. They have been used for centuries by various cultural communities to provide essential oils, herbs, and other useful substances that can be utilized for various purposes.

Greece is known for its rich biodiversity and the traditional use of aromatic and medicinal plants. In general, it boasts over 6,700 species and subspecies of plants, many of which are characterized as endemic (20%), while more than 2,000 exhibit commercial interest.

Specifically, the region of Epirus is renowned for its rich biodiversity and the variety of aromatic and medicinal plants that grow here. The climate and natural conditions of the area provide an ideal environment for the growth of various plants with therapeutic and aromatic properties.
