Features Description Asparagus acutifolius is a biennial, herbaceous plant growing from 0,3 to 0,7m, with needle, green leaves, red, oval fruits and small, bell-shaped, white, green or red flowers. The flowering lasts from June to August
Method Administration The plant is administered as diuretic in the form of herbal tea (2-3 cups daily)Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist. The substances they contain may interact with the subscribed drugs that the patient already takes, thus eliminating their therapeutic efficacy or inducing toxicity. They may also burden further weakened vital functions of the body thus exposing the patient to increased morbidity and life threatened conditions.
Pharmacological Info The whole plant is used as anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, diaphoretic, emollient, laxative and sedative. The herbal tea is recommended to patient who suffer from fluid retention, as it stimulates and enhances the function of kidneys and bladder. In some cases the herbal tea is used for the treatment of edema and joint swelling.
