Features Description |
Globularia alypum is a dense, low, evergreen, perennial plant growing up to 50cm. The leathery, green leaves are lanceshaped and the numerous flowers are small, tightly packed, purple, violet, pink or white. The blossoming and harvesting takes place between February and March. |
Method Administration |
The plant is administered as herbal tea (7-14g of dried plant in a cup and a half of boiling water, 2-3 times a day for a month).Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist. The whole plant has laxative, antipyretic, antirheumatic and diuretic properties. It is taken orally as a herbal tea for the treatment of gastric ulcers and other gastric disorders. It is also administered for the treatment of sciatica and metritis. Recent studies reported antidiabetic properties of the herbal infusion. |
