Features Description |
Stachys officinalis is a perennial herbaceous growing from 20 to 60cm, with opposite, oval, elliptic, wavy, toothed leaves and pink or red flowers in inflorescence (bunches). The flowering and the harvesting take place from June to September. |
Method Administration |
The plant is administered as antiseptic, laxative and expectorant in the form of herbal tea (1-2 spoons of dried herb in a cup of boiled water, 3 times a day). It is recommended as healing and antidiarrheal in the form of tincture (1: 5 parts of infusion of fresh leaves and ethyl alcohol 70%, 2-6ml, 3 times a day).Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist. The substances they contain may interact with the subscribed drugs that the patient already takes, thus eliminating their therapeutic efficacy or inducing toxicity. They may also burden further weakened vital functions of the body thus exposing the patient to increased morbidity and life threatened conditions. |

Also it has antipyretic, sweating, anthelmintic, antiseptic, laxative, cholagogue, diuretic and expectorant properties.
