Features Description Lilium martagon is a perennial, herbaceous plant growing from 0,9 to 1,8m, with lanceolate leaves and deep red or flesh-coloured flowers. The flowering and the harvesting last from June to July and the fruiting takes place from August to September.
Method Administration The plant is administered as cardiotonic, diuretic and emollient in the form of herbal tea (3 spoons of dried root in a cup of boiled water, three times a day), while it is applied externally to the skin mainly against ulcers.Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist. The substances they contain may interact with the subscribed drugs that the patient already takes, thus eliminating their therapeutic efficacy or inducing toxicity. They may also burden further weakened vital functions of the body thus exposing the patient to increased morbidity and life threatened conditions.
Pharmacological Info The root's extract has cardiotonic, emmenagogue, diuretic, emollient and expectorant properties. It is administered for the treatment of heart diseases, as well against pain associated with angina pectoris. Also, it is recommended against fluid retention, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, skin ulcers and other skin problems.
