Features Description Anethum graveolens is an annual herb growing up to 60cm, with small, thin, needle-like leaves and small, yellow flowers, which look like an umbrella. The flowering lasts from June to October and the harvesting takes place during the first days of July.
Method Administration The plant is administered against stomach disorders and as orexigenic in the form of infusion or herbal tea (2-3 seeds of the herb in 300mL of boiled water, 2-3 times a day before eating). In homeopathy it is recommended against dyspepsia in the form of tincture (1-2mL, 3 times a day).Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist. The substances they contain may interact with the subscribed drugs that the patient already takes, thus eliminating their therapeutic efficacy or inducing toxicity. They may also burden further weakened vital functions of the body thus exposing the patient to increased morbidity and life threatened conditions.
Pharmacological Info The whole plant is administered in the form of infusion and herbal tea to soothe the gastrointestinal system, to improve digestion, as well as antidiabetic (control blood insulin level), antispasmodic, galaktagogue, expectorant and antibacterial. The herbal tea made from the seeds is used against vomiting, intestinal colic, insomnia and dry cough. It is recommended mainly to children who suffer from stomach disorders and have decreased appetite, while in folk medicine it is used to increase milk production by breastfeeding mothers as well against liver diseases and hemorrhoids
