Features Description Genista tinctoria is a native plant growing up to 30cm, with lanceolate, alternate leaves and yellow, hermaphrodite flowers. The flowering and the harvesting take place from June to August, while the fruiting happens from August to October.
Method Administration It is administered as diuretic in the form of herbal tea (a quantity of dried leaves in a cup of boiled water, 3-4 times daily). In homeopathy it is administered in the form of infusion made from the fresh shoots.Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist. The substances they contain may interact with the subscribed drugs that the patient already takes, thus eliminating their therapeutic efficacy or inducing toxicity. They may also burden further weakened vital functions of the body thus exposing the patient to increased morbidity and life threatened conditions.
Pharmacological Info The herbal tea is administered as diuretic, laxative and emetic. Although it is not predominantly used in medicine, is only recommended sometimes against dropsy and gout. In homeopathy it is used for the treatment of rheumatism.
