Features Description Peucedanum ostruthium is a herbaceous, perennial plant growing from 50 to 60cm, with wavy, green, compound leaves divided into smaller leaflets and large, white or pink flowers. The flowering lasts from June to July and the harvesting takes place from March to April, while the harvesting of the root takes place from September to October
Method Administration It is administered against indigestion, as well as emmenagogue in the form of herbal tea (a spoon of dried herb in 1L of boiled water, 2-3 times a day). It is applied externally to the skin as sedative in the form of tincture (6: 1 parts of dried root and ethyl alcohol 75%, 5-60 drops a day), which is recommended especially in homeopathy against dermatitis.Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist. The substances they contain may interact with the subscribed drugs that the patient already takes, thus eliminating their therapeutic efficacy or inducing toxicity. Pharmacological Info The herbal tea is administered as sudorific, diuretic, emmenagogue, sedative and antispasmodic. It is recommended mainly for the treatment of indigestion, by reacting on the gastrointestinal tract, it reduces the symptoms of intense pain, flatulence and intestinal gas. Also, it is used against asthma, bronchitis, colic, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea.
