Features Description Trollius europaeus is a herbaceous, perennial plant growing from 30 to 60cm, with palmate, smooth, divided leaves and small, single, spherical, yellow flowers. The flowering and the harvesting take place from May to June.
Method Administration In Greece the plant is no more used in medicine, as further investigation is required to prove its efficacy and safety. In Russia it is administered in the form of herbal tea against scurvy.Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist. The substances they contain may interact with the subscribed drugs that the patient already takes, thus eliminating their therapeutic efficacy or inducing toxicity. Pharmacological Info The whole plant has laxative, diuretic, emmenagogue and anti-inflammatory properties. It is mainly used in herbal medicine, while in folk medicine, especially in Russia it is recommended for the treatment of scurvy, an indication which should be more investigated.
