Features Description |
Erodium cicutarium is an annual plant growing up to 60cm, with green, oblong, toothed leaves, small flowers with five petals and pink sepals and oval fruits with sharp edges. The flowering lasts from June to September and the fruiting happens from August to October. |
Method Administration |
The plant is administered as astringent, hemostatic and milk production inducer in the form of herbal tea (a spoon of dried leaves in a cup of boiled water for 5-10min, 3 times a day) as well as diuretic in the form of infusion (a spoon of dried leaves or fruits in a cup of boiling water for 5-10min, three times a day).Warning: The use of herb preparations is not recommended without seeking advice from your physician or pharmacist. The whole plant has astringent, galaktagogo and haemostatic properties. It is recommended in the form of herbal tea for the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding and external bleeding, as well in orded to increase milk production in nursing mothers. It is applied externally to the skin in the form of poultice against animals' bites, skin inflammation, wounds and rashes. Also, leaves' infusion has sudorific and diuretic properties, and it is used against typhoid fever, rheumatism and gout. |
